Its been one crazy household in the Jacobus home this past week! Almost so crazy that Im getting super anxious for my vacation to come! In the past week we’ve had 5 meetings and 3 meetings coming up! Im getting really excited about working with my upcoming brides. I think they will be some fun and crazy people!
Here are 4 different shoots that I am going to be blogging within the next week!

Hope you are all having a wonderful friday! I know I will have fun preparing for Maggie and Terry’s wedding tomorrow!!
Okay, Melissa is a girl after my own heart. We have so much in common and I love having her as my bride and my friend
We shot Melissa and Brandon about a week ago and had so much fun! They were, as you can see, very photogenic. I cant wait for their wedding this October! Sounds like its going to be one crazy party!!
Let me start out with my two favs from the day:

Work it for me MAMA!!!!

Meet Melissa, Shes got Sassss:

Meet Brandon, Straight GQ:

Donna and Pete had one of the most interesting weddings I have ever been too. It was such an amazing experience to get to witness and photograph the traditions of the Macedonian culture. I hope I have the opportunity and privilege in shooting another one just like it. I hope you two are having an amazing time on your much deserved honeymoon!
Jared dropped me off at Donnas house while he went over to Pete’s as he was getting ready. Donna was still in the hair drying process when I arrived. Ashley from Kenneths did her hair and it was absolutely beautiful! As Donna sat there getting pampered, I took my detail shots. The dress, oh my my, was it amazing. If anyone knows me personally, glitz, glam and everything in between is what I wake up for everyday! Ok, not really. But, pretty close. Donna’s dress was covered in beautifully designed crystal work. Ultra fabulous.
I got to meet so many wonderful people and I hope I get to see you all again!

Whoa mama!! Feeling neglected much, blog? We shot Whitney and Dougs engagement pictures last week. We have had to reschedule them 4 times now and we finally were able to pick a good day! Doug and Whitney are such a cute couple. Very laid back and down for whatever. We shot them at our new favorite location, secluded, country and wide open. If any upcoming engaged couples want to shoot back here. Let me know! Jill and Mike and Becky and Jason were shot back here as well! Doug works for Jegs auto store and Whitney works for a daycare center. I love them both very much. Whitney, Im so incredibly happy to be welcoming you into our family! Soon, we will be sisters. Dont be too afraid!

Finishing up with another engagement session, Jared and I packed up all of our equipment, hopped into our SUV and waved our last goodbyes. Driving down a back country road, sittin’ side by side, I’m flipping through the back of my camera to pick out a favorite of the day. “Whoa!, look at all those firefly’s!!”. I quickly put my camera down and looked out the window. It looked like God went super crazy with his glitter and spilt it in the fields. I was getting so excited watching the beautiful bugs lighting up in the dark. “Pull over! Lets get a picture!” I yelled out with excitement. Jared pulls over to the side on the next road entrance we come to, whips out the tripod and attaches our camera. CLICK……..CLICK. 6 second shutter. “Did it work??” I yelled out with an anxious voice. “Not yet” he tells me. CLICK……………………………..CLICK 15 second shutter. “You can kinda see them but, not really.” We tried a few more times with a few more exposures and couldn’t figure out how to get those crazy little creatures to show up in our camera. Atleast, not as cool as we were seeing them. “Alright, lets pack up and go home.” Jared said with a disappointed voice. As he was packing up, I took one last look into the field. It was quiet, no street lights, no cars. Just Me, Jared a million firefly’s and a quarter lit sky after a sunset. If I could have snapped a permanent memory of that moment in our life, I would have. Because, not too often do we ever just stop, take a minute and watch the firefly’s. It really makes you appreciate what is most important in life.
Its 3:15am, I hear the foot steps of my dad creeping quietly through the house to let our hyper, full bladder dogs out. As I quickly sat up in bed I had just remembered I was having a nightmare. A really scary nightmare. With aliens. I know I’m not the only one, but nightmares seem to be more realistic at night. Duh, I guess. I laid there trying so hard to go back to sleep. Trying to forget about the nasty little creature that tried to eat me. Half an hour rolled by, an hour rolled by. I then heard the howling noises outside the house of my now, emptied bladder pup wanting to come back in. I woke Jared up immediately and asked him to get the dogs. I was WAY to scared to get out of bed. Anyone with me?
Now its 9:35am. Im still in my big fluffy purple robe drinkin my 8 o’clock columbian coffee trying to get motivated to get some work done. I look, and feel like Ive been run over by a bus.
If some of you are wondering “why did you hear your dad?” “You still live at home?”…Jared and I have been staying with my parents til our house is complete. Which should be within the next month.
I have 5 meetings in the next 2 weeks with some killer brides! I cant wait to meet them! Until our new Gallery is finished, we meet at Panera Bread, Starbucks and Cup o Joe!
This Saturday we shoot the wedding of the oh so fabulous Donna and Pete!
And because every post is better with a picture…. this is Jared and I at our photoshoot with Karla Banks!!
