Fall engagements are perhaps some of my favorites to shoot. Innis woods in Westerville, Ohio provides great locations and a wide variety of scenery to shoot. The creative element is beyond reachable there. From brick walls to board walks in the woods, streams with delicately layed stones to different landscaped bridges. With the fall leaves in such great bloom this year, we took advantage of the park with many shoots. Tara and Mike were such a great couple to work with. As previous posts included, we are exploring our talents with off camera flashing to create different lighting effects. The two of them generously stayed with Jared and I past dark to experiment in uptown Westerville. We all had such a blast and I cant wait to shoot their wedding!
I do have a few things to add as a side note to this blog. I am enternally grateful to those who have helped Jared and I along in our career. With technical questions to handling business questions, we had so much help from wonderful photographer friends who were more than generous with their knowledge. Jared and I have thought about what we can do to better ourselves not only as friends to aspiring photographers but to the general audience looking to be able to be more creative and take their hobby to the next level! With every other blog post that we create we want to extend tips and tricks to help along those who want to go further in their business/hobby/images.
While we were in New York City we saw that Dane Sanders was going to be speaking at a local PUG meeting. Dane wrote this amazing book that I recommend to all wedding photographers, new AND experienced. He really opens your mind to paying it forward and that there is “nothing new under the sun”. It helped Jared and I so much and I appreciate the willingness, kindness and openness Dane expressed to Jared and I on our walk to dinner.
