Wedding Cake Inspiration

Cake. I love me some cake. When I shoot a wedding the wedding cake is one of my favorite things to check out as soon as I get to the reception. When I find out some of the cakes were made by some of my favorite wedding vendors I get even MORE excited!!

When I see brides put hardly any time or thought into the details of their wedding I get a little sad inside. Investing in great details is just as important as investing in great photography. Hiring a wedding planner can be extremely helpful in making your vision come true. Some of the top wedding planners spend hours on end staying current in the newest, latest and greatest trends and can guide you on do’s and dont’s in creating the whole day. Photographers like me are incredibly inspired by truly amazing details. We go NUTS over something new and fresh and something that is extremely personal.

I put together a little inspiration board of cakes that I found stuck out to me when inspiration searching. My style is very clean and simple but these cakes are simple and clean without being too boring.

One thing to note, to make your cake shots look even better, take the time to decorate a background for your cake and your photographer. The last thing you want is to have an amazing cake stuck up against a boring white wall…or even worse….hideous wall paper…crriiiingeee….
