Engagements. A time where we love getting to know our clients and developing more than just a client relationship. We strive and desire to develop friendship. That was definitely accomplished with Bryn and Justin. Bryn approached me with the idea of shooting their engagements at their college, Ohio University, in Athens. I immediately said yes and was super excited to shoot somewhere new and fun. When we arrived to the campus it was really dead. Everyone was away for spring break and we had the whole place to ourselves. We definitely developed a great friendship that day and I am excited to call Bryn and Justin our friends.

The wedding day was just as fun. The excitedness and energy of everyone, the last minute brush ups, and of course some serious radar checking. Yes, we were scheduled to get a pretty brutal storm the same time portraits were going to take place. We had to work fast and down to business. But we loved every minute of it.

Nicole and Brian | Married!

It was meant to be. Im a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Nothing by coincidence. That’s how I feel about my relationship with Nicole and Brian. As we instantly connected at the very first meeting I knew I was going to have so much fun with these two. With both of them being super laid back and extremely in love I knew I was going to have the couple of a lifetime.

9-25-10. I woke up differently that morning. I woke up with a skip in my step, smile on my face and the energy of an energizer bunny. I KNEW it was going to be a good day I could just feel it. I spent my morning praying, pumping myself full of inspiration and plain oatmeal. I was ready. Ready to photograph the wedding of Brian Heminger and Nicole Monaco!

Courtney and Keith | Married

Blue skies. A perfect 5 mph breeze and sunshine. The morning of July 3rd I woke up and peeked out my faux wood blinds to see a glimpse into the days morning. I slipped my cold toes into my fuzzy slippers and made my way into the kitchen. My mind is racing with inspiration as the loud noise of the coffee bean grinders chops away at my fresh beans. I hit “brew” and moseyed my way into the office. I plumped my rear into my over sized leather chair and allowed myself to fully wake up. I hit up my favorite photographers of ALL TIME for daily inspiration and ideas. It was go time!

The clear morning skies carried into the afternoon. We arrived at the hotel where Courtney would be putting the final touches of her makeup on. We had attended the rehearsal dinner the night before and got to know everyones wonderful personalities. It made the wedding day a graceful breeze as I was able to call up everyone by name. I walked into the room and said my hellos to all the gals. Everyone was giddy with excitement. Courtney’s makeup was flawless and she was ready to start!!

Courtney and Keith decided to meet before the ceremony to get all the pictures done. I have to say that I completely love Courtney and Keith for allowing 2 hours for all the pictures before hand. This made the day go super smooth and nothing was rushed! The two meeting each other was super special. Keith had his back turned towards Courtney and I gave Courtney the freedom to walk on up to Keith and tell him when to turn around. I love watching the brides reaction as she prepares to call out her husbands name to see her for the first time. Its one of my most favorite parts of the day.

Everything that day couldnt have been more perfect. I loved Courtney and Keith, both their families and the bridal party. You guys were great and I cant wait to work with you again in the future!!!

Holly and Ryan | Engaged

We parked the car. Gathered up the equiptment and headed towards our meeting spot. I saw Holly by their car waving at me from a distance. I was super excited about their engagement shoot because getting to see their personalities at Rachel and Stephens wedding we were just going to feed off of each others dork energy! And so we did. We began the session laughing and joking and carrying on. We started off in Goodale park for some pretty classic shots. Then we made our way to the Short North area where we stopped and window shopped, grabbed a couple cupcakes, and then later a few beers. I loved working with Holly and Ryan and cant WAIT for their November 6th wedding this year!

Their first date was at Betty’s right there in the Short North:

Heather and Alex | Engaged

We pulled into Schiller Park parking lot and I scanned the black top looking for my Bride and Groom. Alex being the big guy that he is was easy to spot. We pulled into the space next to them, got out and exchanged hugs and hello’s. I was really excited for this engagement shoot because Jared was taking full control. He did a wonderful job as the pictures below show. After the engagement session we stopped in a local eating place and had dinner. It was such a wonderful time getting to know these two and I cant wait to hang out again at the local Greek hole in the wall!

Megan and Robert | Engagement

Megan and Robert were what I like to label as AbFab. Jared and I have barely been able to get out and shoot this last month and a half and we’ve been going crazy inside this house. Of course, getting construction done on the inside is awesome but we were getting a little shutter happy. We went into the session completely and totally 100% inspired by Bob and Dawn Davis. They are some of the industries best and I hope to be as big as them one day! You might have heard us talk about them in this post HERE. Their off camera lighting was one of the main approaches we took with the session with Megan and Robert. It was less than 25 degrees and these two were such champs and stayed out shooting with us for almost 2 hours!!! I don’t think I’ve ever taken almost 2 hours for an engagement session. Thanks you two! We had a total blast getting to know you and cant wait for your wedding!!

Stunning. The only word to describe this beautiful winter German Village wedding. As I walked into the house where the girls had decided to get ready, I saw Sarah sitting in her chair by the beaming window light just glitzing in the sunshine. A huge grin sang from ear to ear as she was constantly being praised for her beauty. I took the girls to Schiller Park in Columbus for their very brisk portraits. As the girls are shivering and shaking , Sarah looked as if she was mentally somewhere warm. She rocked her bridal portraits and I cant wait for you to view them below. Jared was with the guys hanging out at Gordon Biersch and taking pictures around the Nationwide arena area.

Jared and I shot Nicole and Brian in the Short North art district and Goodale Park! We had such a wonderful day of shooting with them and some of the best times getting to know them. Nicole and Brian both work at Abercrombie and Fitch corporate center and I think they should be the models…They were FABULOUS!
